Meet The Milkers

Before we dive into our milkers you will see that these aren't just any ordinary goats. These girls are more than just milk machines! Each girl pictured below is also on our show string. You may ask what is this lady talking about? Well let me tell you what that means here at JTC Farms. These girls are shaved and fitted countless times a year in order to compete in dairy goat shows. They are shown at county fairs, state fairs and also shown at American Dairy Goat Association shows. You also probably won't see me in many pictures either. The last few years the boys have taken over my whole show string. So sit back and enjoy some pictures of some of the hardest workers here on the farm two and four legged. 

 

Peace is one of our favorite milkers in the barn, she has the best personality. She is always the first to greet you when you come in and will follow you through the barn. 

 

Fro is our first LaMancha owned ever on our farm. She came to us from J-Haven's Acres in Indiana. She is 3 years old and full of personality. As you can probably tell she is a standard size goat, the first we've ever owned. It took some time but these two have been meshing this past year pretty well and I can't wait to see where their show career takes them. I love watching her give him a dose of his own medicine and making him work to be a better showman. 

LB is pictured on the left, her name is short for Little Britches or the other B word when she acts up. She lives up to both names, although she is small she is fierce. More often than not she identifies as one of our livestock dogs. You better believe she will be out there greeting you with one of her most famous RBF when you pull in the drive with her pack of dogs. To the right is Sweetie and boy does she live up to her name. Sweetie came to us last year from Kansas and will be turning six in February. This is Cole's go to girl. More often than not she tolerates his perfectionist qualities. She will just stand there while he fiddles with setting her up. 

This is Sally one of our more reserved does. Sally was shown all year last year as a junior but you would never guess that this year. Ha. She is just a a yearling first freshener doe this year, so she has plenty of time to continue to learn and grow in the ring with her cute little handler. 

I had lots of pictures to choose from for this introduction but I think this one perfectly captures these two. Molly is one of our nicest does here on the farm but is for lack of better words a turd. If you aren't one of these two cute little blonde headed boys she will put the breaks on let you proceed to drag her. Which is not super fun while loading her into a trailer. But she loves her boys something fierce and will go in the ring with them without a fuss.
